A prominent chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has called on aspirants seeking elective and party positions under the platform of the party to respect consensus arrangements adopted by party stakeholders, warning that personal ambitions should not override the collective interest of the APC.

Ajia, who holds the traditional titles of Dan Amanar Fune Emirate in Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, stressed that unity, discipline and loyalty remain critical to the continued electoral success of the ruling party ahead of future political contests.

In a statement issued by his Director of Communications and Strategy, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan, and made available to journalists, the APC stalwart urged all party faithful to embrace peace and sportsmanship throughout the electoral process, noting that political power ultimately comes from God.

According to him, aspirants dissatisfied with consensus arrangements should nevertheless accept the decision of the party leadership in order to preserve harmony within the APC.

“Since party stakeholders have unanimously agreed to adopt consensus arrangements in some positions, all members and aspirants should respect the outcome and rally behind whoever emerges as the party’s chosen candidate,” the statement said.

Ajia maintained that the stability and cohesion of the APC must take precedence over individual political interests, emphasizing that the strength of the ruling party lies in the collective loyalty and support of its members across the country.

The Ilorin-born security expert reaffirmed his readiness to work with all candidates produced through consensus, declaring total loyalty to the decisions and ideals of the APC.

“I am fully committed to the ideals and decisions of our great party. Whoever emerges through the consensus arrangement should be supported wholeheartedly by all members to ensure victory for the APC,” he stated.

He also pledged continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leadership of the APC, and all candidates flying the party’s flag in future elections.

Ajia assured party leaders and supporters that he would continue to work for the success of the APC at all levels, expressing confidence that the party would emerge stronger through unity, fairness and collective sacrifice.

The APC chieftain further dismissed speculations linking him with plans to defect from the ruling party, describing such rumours as false, baseless and politically motivated.

“There is no truth whatsoever in the speculation about my defection. I remain solidly and proudly a member of the APC and have no intention of leaving the party. My loyalty to the party structure and leadership remains unshaken,” he affirmed.

He urged party members nationwide to remain focused on the broader objective of sustaining the APC-led administration and securing victory in future elections, while cautioning against actions capable of creating internal divisions within the party.

Ajia insisted that mutual respect, cooperation and adherence to constituted authority would remain essential for preserving the party’s dominance across the federation.

He expressed optimism that with sustained unity among members and stakeholders, the APC would continue to record electoral victories and strengthen its position as Nigeria’s leading political party.
