A blend of jubilation, pride, and reflection filled the atmosphere at Model Girls Junior Secondary School, AMAC Estate, Lugbe, Abuja, as the school marked the close of its 2024 academic session with a vibrant graduation and prize-giving ceremony on Monday, June 30th, 2025.
Held within the serene premises of the school, the event drew dignitaries, parents, educators, and well-wishers who came to celebrate the achievements of the JSS 3 students and the enduring legacy of the school’s commitment to academic excellence and character development.
Presiding over the ceremony was Barrister Osita Nwanjo, whose presence lent gravitas and inspiration to the proceedings.
In her emotional address, the school’s Principal, Hajia Titilayo Yahaya (Mrs.), extended profound gratitude to God, parents, and staff for their unwavering support throughout the academic year.
She reflected on the journey of the graduating students, who began their secondary school experience three years earlier and have grown into confident and well-groomed young women.
“Though the journey was not rosy, today we raise our shoulders high and declare to the world that we have laid a solid foundation for you to succeed and excel in life,” she said. Her message resonated deeply, describing the students as “princesses, potential leaders, mothers, and models,” and encouraging them to uphold values such as the fear of God, hard work, honesty, humility, and obedience.
With a firm but motherly tone, Hajia Titilayo advised the graduates to avoid any conduct that could undermine their dignity or the reputation of the school. “You were born to be solutions to your generation and not part of its problems,” she emphasized, while assuring them that the school’s doors would always remain open for mentorship and guidance.

The event was attended by respected figures in the education sector, including Mrs. Pamela Mbanefo, Director/Principal of the Nigerian-Korea Model School, Piwoyi; Hajia Ramatu Nusa, Director JSS, FCT-UBEB; Hajia Ramatu Ajuji, Director of Special Duties, Education Secretariat, FCTA; Mr. Michael Sunday, Director/Principal JSS Airport; and Architect Achadu, Vice Chairman of the PTA. They all commended the school’s leadership and reaffirmed their belief in the power of education to transform lives, particularly under the visionary leadership of Hajia Titilayo.
The PTA Chairman, in his own address, praised the dedication of the teaching and administrative staff in nurturing what he described as “worthy daughters of tomorrow,” and reaffirmed the parents’ commitment to continue supporting the school’s mission.
Highlights of the day included spirited performances by the school’s cultural dance troupe, poetry club, and choir — all showcasing the rich talents honed within the school environment. Academic and character-based awards were presented to outstanding students in recognition of their excellence in studies, leadership, and extracurricular activities.
For the JSS 1 and JSS 2 students, the ceremony served as both an inspiration and a call to action. “The ball is now in your court,” the Principal told them, challenging them to uphold the school’s standards and strive for excellence.
In her closing remarks, Hajia Titilayo offered warm appreciation to her Vice Principals, teaching and non-teaching staff, and partners such as the FCT UBEB Management and the Education Resource Centre for their contributions to a successful academic year. “To my hardworking team — thank you for your sacrifice and loyalty. God bless you all,” she said.
As the celebration concluded with cheers, music, and the symbolic release of balloons, it was clear that the graduating class of 2024 was departing not just with certificates in hand, but with courage, purpose, and a shared commitment to shaping a better future — guided by the values they learned at Model Girls JSS AMAC Estate.
