Axion Group has introduced its breakthrough construction products — Axion Hydroshield Polybond and Axion Totalcrete Cement — positioned as reliable, long-term solutions to dampness, moisture penetration and related structural defects in buildings.

The company said the new Canadian-technology products are engineered as high-performance screeding materials capable of delivering 100% waterproof and crack-proof protection for walls, floors and other building surfaces. They are designed to block water infiltration, eliminate rising damp, prevent algae formation and curb the early deterioration of building finishes. Builders, contractors and homeowners battling damp walls, peeling paint, mould growth and structural weakening are expected to benefit from the affordable and technologically advanced solutions.

Axion Hydroshield Polybond forms a seamless waterproof layer during screeding, preventing water from seeping through concrete surfaces. When used together with the multipurpose Totalcrete Cement, the products create a reinforced screed layer that remains dry, strong and durable, even in moisture-prone areas.

Group Chief Executive of Axion Nigeria, Dr. Oke Eze, called on industry stakeholders — including architects, engineers, developers, block makers and homeowners — to embrace innovative construction technologies that promote structural safety, strength and durability. Group Chief Executive of Axion Nigeria, Dr. Oke Eze, called on industry stakeholders — including architects, engineers, developers, block makers and homeowners — to embrace innovative construction technologies that promote structural safety, strength and durability.

He linked the rising incidence of dampness, cracks, mould and early building deterioration to outdated construction practices and low-quality materials. “Hydroshield Polybond and Totalcrete Cement represent the future of waterproof construction in Nigeria. When people insist on the right products, we eliminate damp problems and improve the overall lifespan of our buildings,” he stated.

Dr. Eze reaffirmed Axion’s dedication to delivering science-driven construction solutions that reduce maintenance costs and protect structures from long-term damage, noting that widespread adoption of the products would help address one of the country’s most persistent and costly building challenges.

With demand for durable infrastructure and resilient housing on the rise, Axion’s new waterproof screeding system is being positioned as a transformative innovation in Nigeria’s construction sector.

Speaking at the unveiling, the Managing Director of CM Services Limited, Catherine Kadiri, described the introduction of Axion’s innovative construction products as a significant milestone for the industry. She said the solutions were created to make construction work easier, faster and more reliable across the value chain.

Kadiri highlighted that the products address the daily challenges faced by engineers, builders, technicians and artisans, including harsh site conditions and repeated repair works that fail to last. “Axion was created with you in mind,” she said. “These products are designed to solve real, everyday challenges — giving us better bonding, stronger protection and faster application times. In simple terms, Axion helps us work smarter, not harder.”

She added that Axion symbolises a future where consistent quality and excellence become standard practice in the industry. With growing community needs and increasing expectations for long-lasting infrastructure, Kadiri said practitioners must adopt solutions that combine innovation with practicality.

“Construction is changing,” she noted. “The future belongs to products that help us build strong roads, safe homes and lasting infrastructure — a future where challenges on-site don’t slow us down, where we build not just structures, but trust.”

Kadiri also emphasised that the unveiling of the products marks new opportunities for improved craftsmanship, efficiency and sector-wide growth. She thanked the partners and stakeholders whose support has strengthened the vision.

“Together, we are building better, building stronger and building a future we can all be proud of,” she concluded.
