ALGON NEC, BOT, Management And Staff Applaud President Buhari’s Approval For Take Off Of Community Policing

The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria,(ALGON), Hon. Alabi Kolade David on behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC), Board of Trustees (BOT), Management and Staff of ALGON has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the approval and take off of Community Policing in Nigeria.

ALGON in a statement signed by the National President said: “Your Excellency Sir, nothing can measure the profound joy in our hearts at the behest of this landmark approval”.

According to the third tier of government in the county, the measure will consolidate all the on-going efforts aimed at enhancing “security architecture nationwide and with key concerns in our Communities.”

ALGON noted that “it is also gratifying to note that Mr. President has also approved the sum of N13.3 billion for the take-off of the Community Policing initiative across the Country, this is most commendable Sir.

“ALGON hereby pledges our total support to consolidate all efforts aimed at making the best use of this approval in enhancing security in all our Communities.

“While Mr. President is aware of our pains in the rural Areas, due to the major onslaught offensively lunched almost daily by these groups of heartless persons.”, the statement noted.

It added that “It is therefore a commendable effort to strengthen national security, guarantee peace and progress.

“Most importantly Sir, it is gratifying to note that Nigerian’s will leverage on this policy to be meaningfully engaging the valunerable youths line with your resolve to take 100 million Nigerian’s out of poverty.

“Your Excellency Sir, this final approval for Community Policing will no doubt help in the expansion of the overstretched Nigeria Police Force. This gladdens the hearts of ALGON.

“Interestingly, our Governor’s have been on this advocacy and we equally thank them for this win-win.

“We also wish to use this medium to congratulate the Inspector General of Police and enjoin him to identify the best approach and strategies to implement it’s smooth take off so as to significantly achieve it’s overall aim, ALGON stands strongly by the Nigerian Police Force”, the statement concluded.
