The North Central Youth Leaders Forum, led by President Hon. Alfa Mma, gathered on Thursday evening at the North Central Zonal meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja to express their unwavering support for Hon. Stephen Abraham Ajiya as the National Vice Chairman, North Central Zone.

In his impassioned speech, Hon. Mma underscored the significance of the National Vice Chairman position, which has been micro-zoned to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He called on PDP leaders and stakeholders to ensure that the role is filled by a capable and dedicated leader.

“We’re all here to tell our leaders in PDP that in the North Central region, the position that was micro-zoned to the FCT is a key position we’re going to look into,” Hon. Mma declared. “We’re pleading with our leaders and stakeholders in PDP in FCT to critically look into the position of the National Central Chairman of the PDP and see that the person to occupy the position must have the capacity to lead.”

Hon. Mma emphasized the thorough deliberations of the North Central Youth Leaders Forum, which concluded that Hon. Stephen Abraham Ajiya is the ideal candidate for the position. He urged all PDP members, leaders, women, and youths to support Ajiya to prevent past leadership mistakes.

“We’re begging PDP faithful members, we’re begging our leaders in PDP, we’re begging women and youths in PDP, we’re begging the whole nation in PDP, to avoid mistakes in the choice of a Zonal leader in the North Central region,” he implored. “Hon. Ajiya is the person we want to stand for us as the Zonal chairman in the North Central Zone.”

Highlighting Ajiya’s dedication, Hon. Mma noted, “Ajiya is a person that never gets tired when they talk about anything in PDP; he’s always there, morning, afternoon, and night, Ajiya has been there to work for PDP. He has been doing this for a long time and everybody knows him.”

Addressing concerns about attempts to impose an unknown candidate, Hon. Mma warned against such actions, stressing the need for proven capacity and leadership as the party looks ahead to the 2027 elections. “Today, because of some persons’ interests – my brother na my brother, my friend na my friend – they are ganging up to impose a candidate on us in the FCT and we don’t want this to happen. The person they want to bring out, nobody knows him in the FCT; we don’t know his capacity. We’re talking of capacity in PDP against 2027. We’re pleading, Hon. Ajiya is the answer to this position of North Central zonal chairmanship in PDP.”

The rally concluded with a strong call for unity and support for Hon. Stephen Abraham Ajiya, as the North Central Youth Leaders Forum reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring capable and effective leadership within the PDP.
