The Kano State House of Assembly has received a supplementary budget proposal of N169,522,463,294.82 from the state executive for consideration, aimed at funding key development projects across the state in the 2025 fiscal year.
The request, contained in a letter from the executive arm, was read on the floor by Speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore, who explained that the additional allocation is intended to enable the government to implement impactful projects that would improve the lives of residents.
Following deliberations, the lawmakers committed the proposed supplementary appropriation bill to the House Committee on Appropriations for detailed examination and legislative action.
In a related development, the Assembly also received a letter from the executive nominating Saidu Yahaya as the new Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC). The House adjourned its sitting until the next day after a motion to that effect was moved by the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussaini Dala.
