Police Elevates 11 Airwing Officers to ASP II, CP Nwogoh Charges Them on Discipline

The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Police Airwing, Martins Nwogoh, on February 16, 2026, decorated eleven officers recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
The ceremony was held at the Police Hangar of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where senior officers and personnel gathered to witness the formal investiture of the new ranks.
Addressing the promoted officers, CP Nwogoh described the elevation as a product of dedication, hard work, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties within the Airwing. He commended their commitment to service and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary conduct. 
The Commissioner stressed the centrality of discipline in policing, underscoring the need for strict adherence to professional standards, respect for human rights, and the principles of community-oriented policing. He reminded the officers that their new status comes with expanded responsibilities and heightened expectations.
Charging them to see the promotion as a call to greater service, CP Nwogoh encouraged sustained efforts toward safeguarding lives and property, while maintaining the integrity and operational efficiency of the Police Airwing.
