The Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as a resolute and strategic commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s national security architecture, while also commending National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for their roles in driving coordinated security reforms.

In a letter dated 17th February, 2026, and addressed to the President at the State House, Abuja, the youth-led organization expressed sincere appreciation and commendation for the administration’s efforts in restoring peace, reinforcing institutional capacity, and deepening effective inter-agency collaboration to confront security challenges across the federation.

AYAGL noted that the renewed coordination among security and intelligence agencies reflects purposeful governance and a firm commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and the territorial integrity of the country. According to the Assembly, the administration’s focus on strengthening national security has laid a foundation for stability and sustainable development.

The group particularly commended Ribadu for his pivotal role in coordinating national security strategy and advancing intelligence-driven operations. It stated that his proactive harmonization of security efforts, reinforcement of counterterrorism frameworks, and promotion of synergy among armed and intelligence services have significantly bolstered ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities threatening national stability.

The Assembly also acknowledged Audi’s leadership at the NSCDC, noting that under his stewardship, the Corps has intensified the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure. It further observed that the strengthening of community-based security operations and reinforcement of civil defence mechanisms across vulnerable communities have enhanced grassroots security and increased public confidence in Nigeria’s security framework.

As a youth-focused organization committed to peacebuilding, responsible civic engagement, and national unity, AYAGL stressed that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and security.

The group therefore commended the administration for prioritizing reforms that promote professionalism, accountability, and collaboration within the nation’s security institutions.

The Assembly concluded by assuring the President of its continued support in promoting peaceful coexistence, youth engagement, and national unity across all regions of the country.
