The screening involved a series of verification and intelligence procedures aimed at confirming the personal, educational, and political credentials of aspirants, while also assessing their eligibility and suitability for public office.

Security checks commenced at the Special Investigation Department of the Nasarawa State Police Command Headquarters, where aspirants reportedly underwent registration and documentation processes. The procedures also included biometric data capture, criminal records checks, and interviews focused on political background and public conduct.
Following the police screening, aspirants proceeded to the Department of State Services State Command Headquarters for intelligence vetting, verification of affiliations, and security risk assessments.
The exercise also featured engagements between aspirants and security officials on issues relating to conduct expectations, compliance with electoral regulations, and ethical standards expected of candidates participating in the democratic process.
