The Not Too Young To Perform (NTYTP) Leadership Development Advocacy has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his statesmanlike commitment to a non-partisan and inclusive 2025 National Youth Conference, describing the initiative as a transformative moment in Nigeria’s journey toward national unity and youth-led development.

In a press statement signed by its National Secretary, Arc Bello Muhammed, the NTYTP expressed deep appreciation to the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development for what it called a “well-conceived” and “bold” initiative that places Nigerian youth at the center of national discourse. According to the organization, the 2025 National Youth Conference—popularly known as the National Youth Confab—presents an unprecedented opportunity to engage young people as active contributors to governance, innovation, and national transformation.

The NTYTP described the initiative as a powerful platform for national integration and a rallying point for the country’s youthful population to take ownership of their future. “This bold and inclusive effort is a defining moment in the nation’s journey towards transformational national unity and youth-driven development,” the statement read. It further emphasized that the conference, with its focus on six thematic pillars including governance, political participation, entrepreneurship, education, and climate action, provides a national framework for galvanizing Nigerian youths into strategic roles in shaping the future of the country.

Central to NTYTP’s commendation is President Tinubu’s deliberate approach to ensuring that the conference is not hindered by political affiliation, regional bias, or ideological exclusion. “We particularly commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for ensuring that this vital policy and nation-building platform is not limited by partisanship or sectionalism,” the statement declared. “This act of statesmanship reinforces our conviction that the Nigerian youth must be empowered as equal partners in governance and national progress.”

According to the NTYTP, the decision to open the conference to all Nigerian youth regardless of political background is a significant shift from the past and a reflection of the President’s genuine commitment to building an inclusive society where merit, innovation, and patriotism define leadership, not partisanship or privilege.

The organization also hailed the clarity of vision and competence demonstrated by the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development. It specifically acknowledged the role of Hon. Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, and Olubunmi Olusanya, the Permanent Secretary and Chairman of the National Planning Committee for the Youth Confab, stating that their commitment to youth inclusion represents “a refreshing departure from old norms that sidelined the voices of young Nigerians.”

Describing the conference as more than a policy dialogue, NTYTP called it “a national call to action” and urged young Nigerians from across the federation to embrace the opportunity to shape the country’s future. “The NTYTP strongly believes this initiative signals a timely call to national integration and provides Nigerian youth with an unprecedented opportunity to contribute meaningfully to governance, innovation, and intellectual productivity,” the group said.

NTYTP encouraged all its members nationwide and the wider youth population to register as delegates to the conference, noting that participation can be facilitated through both the official Youth Confab portal and the organization’s own website, www.nottooyoung.org.ng. According to the statement, the NTYTP views the confab as a pivotal platform to turn Nigeria’s vast youth population from a passive demographic statistic into an active engine for development and accountable leadership.

“The 2025 Youth Confab is not just a conference,” the statement concluded. “It is a golden opportunity for young Nigerians to step into their rightful roles as leaders, innovators, and nation-builders.”

By affirming its full support for the Federal Government’s initiative, the NTYTP reaffirms its core mission of equipping and empowering Nigerian youth to drive transformative change in governance, the economy, and community development through visionary leadership.
