Amid the continued efforts to make Abuja safer, Police in the Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have raided identified black spots and criminal hideouts in parts of the capital city, arresting at least 85 criminal suspects.

The areas of the FCT where the suspects were nabbed include Durumi and Dei-Dei.

According to police reports, the raided spots served as havens for criminals engaging in various offenses.

The suspects were apprehended for crimes such as erecting illegal structures and shanties, trafficking hard drugs, and manufacturing counterfeit currencies.

The arrests were carried out in a streak of coordinated raid exercise between March 31 to April 4, 2024 when the police stormed some of the identified black spots and criminal hideouts in the areas serving as places of hibernation for hoodlums.

The Police said all the illegal wooden structures erected by the hoodlums were dismantled and set ablaze to deter criminals from turning those places to a brewing ground of menaces.
