A member of the Fix PDP Fix Nigeria Group in Delta State, Moses Odibo, has distanced genuine Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders from Senator Sandy Onor, alleging that the former lawmaker is aligned with the Nyesom Wike-led faction working to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection bid.
Odibo stated that unfolding political developments within the PDP had exposed individuals and groups no longer committed to the rebuilding and survival of the opposition party.
Speaking on behalf of members of the movement advocating reforms within the PDP, he urged party supporters across Nigeria to disregard Senator Onor as a representative of credible PDP interests ahead of future political realignments and elections.
According to him, Senator Onor does not reflect the aspirations of party faithfuls seeking unity, internal democracy, and a stronger opposition platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s political and economic challenges.
“Sandy Onor is not our presidential candidate. He is a member of the Wike faction working for the reelection of Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Odibo declared.
He further described the alliance between the African Democratic Congress (APM) and what he termed genuine PDP stakeholders as the most viable political alternative for national renewal and effective leadership.
“The APM and PDP alliance is the best option to reset Nigeria and rescue the country from failed leadership and political manipulation. Nigerians deserve a government that truly represents the people,” he said.
Odibo maintained that the coalition was focused on promoting political reforms, restoring public confidence in governance, and creating a broad-based platform capable of addressing issues affecting economic growth, national stability, and democratic accountability.
He also called on PDP supporters nationwide to remain committed to the struggle for political unity, national development, and institutional reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
The statement comes amid ongoing political alignments and internal divisions within major opposition parties ahead of the next electoral cycle, with several groups pushing for broader coalitions to challenge the ruling party.
