Imo-State’s First Female Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs and an elected Councillor for Penn Ward Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert, has penned down an emotional tribute as she mourns the passage of the President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. George Obiozor who died after a brief illness.

The tribute titled “Rest In Peace (RIP) Prof George Obiozor”, reads:

The great Iroko of Igbo Land has fallen; Serving President of Ohanaeze Ndi’Igbo World Wide. An Intellectual Colossus, A Renowned Academician and A Consummate Diplomat – Former Nigerian Ambassador to the United States and Cyprus – only to mention a few. RIP. I woke up to the sad news of your departure… You are one of the last remaining breeds of your era, going out of your way to discover and encourage upcoming talented young Nigerians.

You told me I’m one of them, and you practically supported me to assume my first Government position in Nigeria as the Imo-State’s First Female Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs. You shared these documents with me and you shared your vast contacts! As a result, my job instantly became 50% easier…
