A bitter marital dispute between Nigerian international footballer Olanrewaju Kayode and his estranged wife, Ezinne Dora Okoro, has escalated into a complex legal battle involving allegations of corporate fraud, property takeover and multiple court actions across Abuja and Lagos.

The dispute took a dramatic turn after the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory issued a warrant of arrest against Okoro over allegations of cyberstalking and cyberbullying in a criminal case filed by the Nigeria Police Force.

The order, dated February 16, 2026 and signed by Hon. Justice M. M. Adamu, directed all police officers to apprehend the defendant and produce her before the court.

The development comes amid an ongoing police investigation triggered by a petition from Kayode to the Inspector-General of Police, alleging a coordinated scheme to alter the corporate records of his company in order to gain control of his assets.

Marriage Crisis Turns Legal Battle

Kayode, a professional striker currently playing for Turkish club Esenler Erokspor, said the dispute began as a domestic disagreement but later escalated into a complex legal and financial conflict.

According to the footballer, the marriage started facing serious strain around 2023 after he allegedly discovered that his wife had become involved in an extramarital relationship.

He claimed that despite the marital tension, he continued to provide financial support for the family, including paying school fees for their children in international schools in Nigeria and abroad and maintaining a substantial monthly allowance for his wife.

Kayode said his family had earlier relocated from Turkey to Nigeria to allow the children continue their education while he remained abroad pursuing his football career, including a stint with Turkish club Gençlerbirliği.

Dispute Over DE J-S Concept Limited

At the center of the conflict is DE J-S Concept Limited, a company the footballer said he established in 2019 to manage investments in real estate and other ventures.

According to him, the company was incorporated with a share capital of ₦10 million, with 95 percent ownership belonging to him while 5 percent was allocated to his wife.

However, in his petition to the police, Kayode alleged that in 2024 his estranged wife, working with Abuja-based lawyer Asuquo Oyokunyi Ulo and unnamed officials of the Corporate Affairs Commission, forged his signature and altered the company’s corporate filings.

The footballer alleged that the company’s share capital was subsequently increased from ₦10 million to ₦30 million and that ₦20.5 million shares were allocated to Okoro, effectively making her the majority shareholder.

He also alleged that he was removed as company secretary without his knowledge and replaced by the lawyer.

Kayode said his estranged wife is now relying on the allegedly altered registration documents of DE J-S Concept Limited in an attempt to lay claim to several of his properties in an ongoing divorce suit.

Luxury Vehicles and Properties in Dispute

The footballer further alleged that the corporate changes enabled his estranged wife and her associates to assume control of several assets including luxury vehicles and residential properties acquired through his professional earnings.

Among the properties mentioned are multiple residential buildings in Lagos, as well as two luxury vehicles — a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and a Mercedes-Benz GLE.

He also claimed that some of the properties were purchased through real estate developer Ugochukwu Igboanugo of Ziloc Construction Limited, who allegedly remains in possession of some of the original title documents and has continued collecting rent from the buildings.

Receipts obtained during the investigation reportedly show that payments for the properties were made directly by Kayode.

Police Detain Lawyer in Investigation

As part of the investigation, the Nigeria Police Force reportedly arrested and detained the lawyer, Asuquo Oyokunyi Ulo, over his alleged involvement in the corporate document alterations filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Sources familiar with the investigation said the lawyer was picked up in Abuja on February 23, 2026 and held by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Team at the Force Headquarters.

During interrogation, the lawyer reportedly told investigators that he had never met Kayode and that he was only engaged by another legal practitioner to process company filings.

Property Dispute Reaches Lagos Court

The dispute has also spilled into civil legal proceedings involving a residential property in Lagos.

On March 4, 2026, TVO Partners, a Lagos-based law firm, issued a quit notice to Kayode and occupants of a five-bedroom duplex located at House No. 5, Block F, Plot 4, Pinnock Beach Estate, Ajiran, Lekki.

The law firm, acting on behalf of DE J-S Concept Limited, withdrew the license previously granted to the occupants to reside in the property and directed them to vacate the premises on or before April 30, 2026.

The notice warned that failure to vacate the property within the stipulated period would lead to legal action to recover possession.

Family Tension and Children’s Welfare

Beyond the corporate and legal disputes, the crisis has also affected the couple’s children.

Kayode alleged that at one point his wife left Nigeria with the children without informing him, prompting him to involve security agencies to trace their whereabouts.

He claimed authorities later located the children in Abuja before the situation was resolved temporarily.

The footballer also said he later saw videos of one of his children celebrating a birthday abroad without his prior knowledge.

Case Draws Public Attention

The unfolding dispute between Kayode and his estranged wife now combines elements of marital breakdown, corporate governance disputes, criminal investigations and high-value property claims.

Legal analysts say the case could raise broader questions about the intersection of marital disputes and corporate ownership structures in Nigeria.

Kayode, however, maintains that his petition is aimed at protecting the assets he accumulated through years of professional football.

With police investigations ongoing and the arrest order already issued by the court, the case is expected to continue drawing public attention as legal proceedings unfold.
