The Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh Foundation has announced a ₦5 million sponsorship commitment to the 2025 UNR Isoko Unity Football Competition, reaffirming its dedication to youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and grassroots sports development across Delta State.

The tournament, slated to hold on December 14, 2025, will be hosted by the Igbide community in Isoko South Local Government Area. The annual sporting event, which brings together football talents from across Isoko nation, is expected to serve as a unifying platform for fostering brotherhood, cultural pride, and social cohesion.

Under the Foundation’s sponsorship plan, both the male and female champions of the competition will take home ₦1 million each, while the runners-up will receive ₦500,000 each.

In addition, the top goal scorers in both categories will each earn ₦200,000, and — in a remarkable first-of-its-kind incentive — every goal scored during the tournament will attract a ₦100,000 cash reward. The innovation is designed to promote exciting, attacking football and ignite competitive spirit among participating teams.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chief Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh, Chairman of the Foundation and Delta State Commissioner for Lands and Surveys, described the initiative as a deliberate effort to inspire excellence and strengthen community unity through sports.

“Sport is a powerful force for community building, youth inspiration, and a brighter future,” Chief Obiodeh stated. “Our support for this tournament reflects our unwavering belief in those ideals. It also echoes the vision of our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, whose leadership continues to promote peace, inclusivity, and youth development across Delta State.”
