The Not Too Young To Perform (NTYTP), a youth-driven non-governmental organisation (NGO), which is dedicated to nurturing future leaders, has issued a strong statement in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Signed by its National Secretary, Arch Bello Muhammad, the statement recognised the resilience and contributions of Nigerian women, with particular praise for Distinguished Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was lauded as a prominent advocate for women and youth development. The NTYTP acknowledged her pioneering efforts in championing quality representation, declaring that her achievements deserve widespread commendation.
However, the NTYTP also expressed dismay over systemic challenges faced by women in leadership, condemning the actions of the Senate leadership for perpetuating gender biases and injustice toward female representatives. The statement emphasised the organisation’s commitment to standing against such discrimination, boldly stating, “Enough is enough.”
Urging stakeholders at all levels of government to protect the integrity of democracy, the NTYTP called for accountability and adherence to the rule of law, stressing that no one should be above justice in a fair and equitable society.
The statement concluded with prayers and solidarity for Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and all women striving to uplift Nigeria both domestically and internationally.
The NTYTP then extended warm wishes to Nigerian women worldwide, celebrating their unwavering spirit and achievements on this significant day.
