The interim management of the National Commission Against the Proliferation of Arms, Light Weapons, and Ammunitions (NATCOM) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his reelection as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
In a letter signed by Acting Director General Dr. Agaba Iduh Fidel, NATCOM praised Tinubu’s “leadership and dedication to promoting democracy, peace, security, and development in the West African sub-region.”
The commission hailed Tinubu’s vision for a more democratic and prosperous ECOWAS, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the organization to greater heights.
Tinubu’s reelection, according to NATCOM, is a testament to the trust and confidence of ECOWAS member states in his leadership. The commission looks forward to collaborating with Tinubu and ECOWAS to combat the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in West Africa, creating a safer environment for citizens.
“We strongly believe that your leadership will continue to bring about positive change and progress in the entire West Africa,” Dr. Fidel wrote. “Once again, congratulations on your reelection, and we wish you continued success in your endeavors as the chairman of ECOWAS.”
The letter highlights NATCOM’s commitment to working with ECOWAS and relevant security agencies to achieve a more secure West Africa.
