Enugu North Monarch Commends Governor Mbah On Assent On Bill to Establish Teaching Hospital, Hail House of Assembly

A traditional ruler in Enugu North Senatorial District of Enugu State, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Eze-Igwe Willy Ezugwu, has hailed Governor Peter Mbah for signing the Enugu State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) Teaching Hospital Bill 2024 into Law.
The royal father, who doubles as the Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom and Igwe of Ibagwa Opi Autonomous Community, also commended members of the Enugu State House of Assembly for expeditiously passing the bill.
HRM Eze-Igwe Ezugwu said that he “is especially elated by the promise by Governor Mbah to expedite action to actualise the teaching hospital immediately to provide quality training and healthcare services in the Enugu North and the state in general.
“By this singular action of our diligent Governor, regarding the accelerated action on the processing and passage of the executive Bill that has now established SUMAS Teaching Hospital, Igbo-Eno, Udenu Local Government Area of our dear state, Governor Mbah has shown me that he is living up to his promise during his inauguration to be a Governor for all parts of Enugu State.
“Campaign promises were made and at his inauguration on May 29, 2023, the Governor clearly pledged to pursue his manifesto and he has proven that he is a talk-and-do Governor and must be commended for putting in place the legal framework required to upgrade SUMAS to a university teaching hospital.
“The good people of my kingdom and the good people of Enugu North Senatorial District are happy that the choice of our son, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to have Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as a successor was made in good faith and based on understanding of the kind of accommodating heart Governor Mbah has.
“We appreciate the Governor for the Executive Bill, now expeditiously passed by the State House of Assembly, and signed into law, for immediate the establishment of the SUMAS Teaching Hospital, Igbo-Eno.
“We in Enugu North, and Enugu State in general, can only ask for more from the current administration in area of good governance”, the monarch said.
