The Nigeria Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has revealed that a 1MW interconnected mini-grid is nearing completion in Zawaciki community of Kano State, North West of Nigeria.

The agency disclosed this in a social media post on Thursday.

Increasingly, the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Power, and the implementing Agency, REA, have continued to expand and strengthen the renewable energy space through multi-stakeholder participation and the deployment of fit-for-purpose technologies to power Nigeria.

With a keen attention to sustainability and productive use of energy for socio-economic development, the Zawaciki interconnected mini-grid, upon completion, will serve thousands of previously under-served Nigerians.

The Nigeria Rural Electrification Agency (REA), which has Engr. Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has the mandate to promote rural electrification in the country.
