Bauchi State youths under the aegis of Bauchi Central Youth Forum (BCYF) are drumming up support for former Governor of Imo State, Senotor Rochas Okorocha, urging him to be contest for president in 2023.
The group’s members lead by their State Coordinator Lukman Garba and the State Secretary Dr Rilwanu Muktar made the call during an advocacy visit to two All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the state, namely Rt Hon. Kasuwa Shehu Damina and Hon. Musa A Turaki.
The group said it issues discussed with the duo include why Rochas Okorocha deserves to be the next President of the country.
The former speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Kasuwa Shehu Damina, who appreciated the group for the visit, assured them of his total support for the movement.
He commended Senator Rochas Okorocha for what he has been doing in support for orphans and less privileged individuals in education sector in country.
The group’s secretary, Dr Rilwanu Muktar noted that Senotor Okorocha deserves to be next President of Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure, saying that the former Governor will continue with the legacies of the current administration.
Dr. Rilwanu added that Senator Rochas Okorocha is the only politician with no tribal and religious biases.
According to him, Senator Rochas “is loved by all” and has changed the life thousands of orphans in Nigeria, saying he will surely do more as a President.
He said that over 14,000 orphans and less privileged are under the educational support of the Senator.
“We also want the southern Nigeria to produce the next President and there’s no other better politician than senator Rochas Okorocha.
“We call on every party stakeholder to consider Senator Rochas Okorocha as the rightful candidate after President Muhammad Buhari”, he said.
The group then called on both Southern and Northern Nigeria to support Senator Rochas Okorocha to make Nigeria great again.
The Bauchi State youths also called on the senator Rochas Okorocha to accept their request for him to contest for President in 2023, pledging to campaign for him for free in their North East region as part of their support because of what he has done in the region, including building two schools Adamawa and Bauchi states.
The youths disclosed that their group is planning to support 2, 500 rural children with free exercise books and other reading and writing materials in Bauchi State in February to mark their new Year celebration.
