ABUJA — Campaign posters of former Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda have flooded major parts of the Federal Capital Territory as his 2027 political support group, Aduda Metre, intensifies grassroots mobilisation for his return to the Senate.

Director of Aduda Metre, Hon. Stephen Abraham Ajiya, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, described the widespread display of Aduda’s posters across the FCT as an indication of what he called the former senator’s strong political structure and growing grassroots support.

Ajiya said the posters had appeared across the six Area Councils of the FCT — Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC; Bwari; Gwagwalada; Kuje; Kwali and Abaji — describing the development as more than a publicity exercise.

“As we speak, from Area 10 to Kubwa, from Nyanya to Zuba, from Kuje to Abaji, the posters of Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda have flooded the entire Federal Capital Territory. The opposition is nowhere to be found,” Ajiya stated.

He said the development was, in his view, evidence of the commitment of Aduda’s political structure and the affection of residents for the former senator.

According to him, reports from Aduda Metre coordinators across the 62 wards of the FCT indicated what he described as positive responses from eligible voters.

“Our supporters and ward coordinators are reporting positive responses from eligible voters across Nigeria’s capital,” he said.

Ajiya claimed that market women, youths, traditional rulers, original inhabitants and other residents had expressed support for Aduda’s return, citing his previous years in public office and what he described as his record of constituency representation.

“They remember his 20 years of modest but impactful representation, his N2.8 billion constituency projects, his empowerment for the people, and his inclusive leadership style,” he added.

Aduda, who represented the FCT in the Senate, previously served in various political capacities, including as a councillor, Chairman of AMAC, member of the House of Representatives and senator.

Ajiya said Aduda Metre would sustain its ward-to-ward engagements across the territory while urging supporters to conduct their activities peacefully and focus on issues affecting the people.

“Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda is a son of the soil, a ranking Senator who understands FCT dynamics from his days as Councillor in 1996, to AMAC Chairman, to House of Representatives Member and to Senate Minority Leader,” he said.

He described the 2027 contest as an opportunity, in the group’s view, to restore what it considers effective representation for the FCT.

“2027 is about restoring effective representation for FCT. The movement has started, and there is no stopping it,” Ajiya declared.

The Aduda Metre Director, however, urged supporters to remain peaceful, focused and issue-based as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
