Nigerians React As Dangote Refinery Contains Minor Fire

The Dangote Refinery has contained a minor fire at its effluent treatment plant, the Nigeria’s privately owned company said.
According to a post on its social media platforms, Dangote Industries Limited said, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.”
Dangote Refinery added that “There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty”, the post signed by its Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, explained.
In their reactions, Nigerians raised concerns while praying for the company.
One of the comments read, “Carry out a proper incident investigation that will reveal the immediate and remote causes of this. Ensure a workable HAZOP is done and implemented for the facility and step up your safety management system. Anything can happen if you don’t take necessary precautions. We have so much hope on this refinery biko.”
Another citizen said, “Glad this is under control. However, investigation should be carried out to unravel the root cause of this incident and proactive measures take to forestall reoccurrence. Lessons learned should be shared among workers to increase their safety awareness. May Dangote refinery succeed!”
Advising Dangote Refinery on robust safety measures, another Nigerian said, “it is very imperative for the Health Safety and Environment department to implement robust safety measures to mitigate any potential risks.
However,all storage tanks and pipelines must be checked regularly for any leaks to forestall reoccurrence.
“Or better still,Implement automatic shut-off systems that can be activated swiftly in case of an emergency.
“This is an asset that must be protected jealously as it will benefit not only the direct workers but the nation at large.”
One other social media comments prayed, “Thank God for successful outcome. May Allah protect your company and the entire staffs.”
Another said, “Happy to hear that no body was harm and the incident was minor ,God will protect your company from any evil incidence.
“Thank God and good to hear that it’s under control and no casualty.
Kudos to everyone that put head’s together to make the refinary work and kudos to all Nigeria workers that contributed one way or the other to make sure the refinary stand those alive and those that have gone you all are HERO’S massimum respect to you all but know everyone is a chair holder in the refinary. The refinary is yours not Dangote alone.
