The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Group has thrown its weight behind the reported 2027 presidential aspiration of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing the move as a bold political step capable of reshaping Nigeria’s future.
In a statement signed by Moses Odibo in Delta State, the group said Makinde has continued to demonstrate leadership qualities needed to reposition the country and deepen democratic governance within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The group noted that the governor’s track record in governance and his commitment to national development have distinguished him as one of the emerging political figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the statement, Nigeria urgently requires purposeful and visionary leadership that can rebuild confidence in public institutions, restore hope among citizens, and strengthen national unity across ethnic and political divides.
The group also used the opportunity to rally support for the proposed collaboration between the PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), describing the alliance as a strategic political arrangement aimed at offering Nigerians a stronger alternative platform.
It maintained that the partnership could help galvanize opposition forces and create a broad-based movement focused on economic recovery, inclusive governance, and democratic stability.
“We urge loyal PDP members across the country to embrace the PDP-APM collaboration in the collective effort to reset Nigeria and build a more united and prosperous nation,” the statement read.
The group further stressed that unity, inclusiveness, and focused leadership would be critical factors in determining the country’s political and economic direction as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
