“There Is Always Another Time. The Lord’s Time Is The Best, They Say. Those With Wisdom Treat With Caution Over Issues Involving Human Destinies As It Can Be Overturned Anytime By Mother Nature”

By Obi Ojage

“Let me warn, that this bunch of idle-mongers, equally opportunistic, should stop going about telling lies about my intentions towards the forthcoming elections in the state. Or inundating the current governor with false impressions of their ability to contain my dominance in propagation. They should wait till then. Although I am a media personality, I am not a conventional journalist or reporter, as such. Much as I am engaged in intellectual writings on the deep things of the Lord, amazingly, I am also skilled in image making and mild propaganda as a public affairs analyst which, over time, has accorded me the privilege of being the voice of Cross River on the net. The current Governor, Prince Bassey Otu, is still my favourite. I have not made up my mind otherwise. I played a singularly important role in his emergence and subsequent victory as Governor of my state of Cross River, and I have no regrets about that. It is never in my character to destroy what I painstakingly built. Quite recently, the Governor, at my instance, magnanimously approved the construction and completion of a short street on which I built a house for my late mother, 25 years ago, into a concreted road, at Ediba Qua Town, in Calabar Municipality, where I have both my private office and residence. What we need most in life, all of us, is, peace of the mind and a clear conscience. Opportunity rotates. Your time shall come, if only you’re equipped enough to be counted. It is rather evil proclivities that diminish with time, in the face of consistent truth on the horizon.” —Obi Ojage

THE battle for political survival and victory in Cross River State, in the year of the Lord, 2027, is between those who depend on the Gods, their metamorphosed portraiture, as opposed to those subjugated or trampled including the feelings of those of the Lord Almighty that operates in the void, no matter who thinks otherwise or questions the truisms theretofore.

IT is between sorcerers, marine worshippers, opportunists, shrine attendants, ingrates and gross material beings. As opposed to Christ Devotees, the meek and those who work by inspiration, savvy and tested with the capacity to vilify or promote good courses, including those whose strength is the Lord.

I speak as an Oracle.

PLEASE, hold me on this, in case the scenario fails. I said a similar thing emphatically about the current government, my party, the All Progressive Congress, (APC), the Governor, way before the 2023 elections began. The Lord honoured my words and efforts. And it came to pass.

Whether I gain or lose further what I birthed and nurtured is of no moment to me. I am forward-looking as a corporate professional in politics, not a donce. People should not grieve for me, simply because I do not hold any political office as expected, as compensation for my contributions, or seen doing contract work or being involved in multiple government financial deals, just like others less endowed do; where they continue allegedly, to buy and build new houses scattered all over the place. Including those who were bystanders when we were fighting our opponents. According to our former state party chairman, Barrister Alphonsus Eba’s text message to me before the Governor’s inauguration in Calabar, Cross River state capital, he wrote: “Thank you for engaging in fighting intellectual war with our enemies”. End of quote.

LET me warn, that this bunch of idle-mongers, equally opportunistic, should stop going about telling lies about my intentions towards the forthcoming elections in the state.

It is rather evil proclivities that diminish with time, in the face of consistent truth on the horizon.

I have lived long enough to see those in politics, unhindered, who made sudden and unexplained wealth, in a decaying system. They trampled on people’s rights, formed strange alliances, took what was never theirs, betrayed friendships for a bowl of porridge, and sold off all the important government properties they inherited to friends and family. But after a few months at the close of the tenure, lost everything, houses, and money, either to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) or to multiple fronts. Including evil concubines, offshore banks, or to the demand of their endless ambitions to be on top at all costs. They’re still seen today as we speak, running gatagatagata without end.

AND people expect me to admire such life or show regard to such characters in my state of Cross River who go about seeking validation from a society that sees their past as good riddance of bad rubbish? I am wiser and deeply entrenched in a knowledgeable past time, and my essence is not to be envious of such an ideologue whose life is characterised by tragi-comedies.

THOSE who know me and my antecedents can tell that I have been consistent in my resolve as a Christ Devotee, an intellectual writer, truth searcher, an uncommon image maker, a public affairs analyst and one who identifies with what the Lord wants at the time. I say the truth as I see it, and stand in support of whom the Lord chooses to govern our state, in my own opinion. Perhaps that is hardly good enough in the politics of our time or generally.

I don’t go to people’s houses early in the morning out of want of what to do and in the interest of politics, to beg them to put my name here or there. No, I create my own opportunities through hard work, and it magnifies those I support in politics to victory. I determine the terms and get results. My fault, unfortunately, is that I trust easily but later vehemently resist those I trusted using me in support of the differences they hold against their adversaries in retrospect, or debauchery and term that to be politics. Bad is bad. Evil is evil, whether in politics or other engagements. It carries the same penalty before your conscience which is the God in you as you.

I stay around politicians and politics, and I must do so as a resource person, a Christ Devotee and Theosophist. All of these influence the characters therein. I give those in the business of governance the right image of themselves, and by that, I impel or determine who heads the government of the day, whether inside or outside of it. And so far, I have been involved in the emergence of three governments and the Governors in my state of Cross River. Don’t ask me what I have gained or lost. I have proven the powers embedded in consistency and loyalty to new ventures and experiments on human frailties, backed by the Lord’s grace and protection, which enabled me to prove my worthiness to those who rely on the expertise and clairvoyance that I offer, relating the same to life situations.

I will not mortgage my conscience nor betray a trust, which is my bane. Politics, they say, requires extreme flexibility even if it is to do wrong. I know of many successful people in and out of politics who behave the same way as I do. I am not an opportunist. I am prone to taking risks over my convictions and don’t look back. It is those I go all out to help actualise their dreams using my expertise who, in turn, betray me, out of fear of my independent-mindedness, abhorrence to detente, or their disposition to tell-mongers and human-devils that abound, who hardly can dare to compete where I hold sway.

I wish to assure my teaming supporters and the millions of those who read me, that It is not just because I want to be seen on wastefulpartting, and on multiple occasions and functions, going about waving hands seeking for validation, or sitting on a high table dominated mostly by mindless characters who are quick to forget what and how it was yesterday, that I should compromise my resolve. And with urges of evil in the name of transient power shrouded with many trappings, the cause of which I will be compelled to do what in my conscience is wrong? No! I am a contented human being by nature, which is why I am not easily swayed, trapped or lured into secret societies many of which, I am being told, offer one the privilege of enjoying affluence unduly, which may not allow me take my needed rest internally as a christ Devotee, to reflect deeply on why I am here. I am working for my incarnation and not ephemerals. It is never my calling to betray trust to be ontop. The internet does not forget. Anyone can verify my claims, if they so choose!

END Time Message.
