Hon. Engr. Kayode Adegbayo, Special Assistant (SA) to the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has extended warm Yuletide greetings to Christians across the country, describing Christmas as a sacred season that fills Nigeria’s socio-religious space with joy, hope, and renewed commitment to unity.

In his message, Hon. Adegbayo reflected on the excitement surrounding the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, noting that it is a period when Nigerians are reminded of enduring values. He described Christmas as “a time when faith, love, and togetherness shine brightest across Nigeria’s diverse communities,” emphasising its deep spiritual significance.

Commending the Christian community, the ALGON aide said believers “bring a radiant glow to the nation’s cultural and spiritual tapestry.” He noted that their “devotion, prayers, and commitment to harmony embody the very essence of Christmas—where peace, generosity, and unity triumph over division.”

He further highlighted the inclusive nature of the season, describing it as a time of “carols and candlelight,” during which Nigeria’s diversity is celebrated. According to him, Christmas underscores the nation’s pluralism, “where every denomination and tradition joins hands in pursuit of shared prosperity.”

The statement described Hon. Adegbayo as a seasoned consultant and programme specialist from Kogi State, who also praised the resilience and compassion of the Christian faithful. He likened their contributions in “education, healthcare, and social outreach to the guiding star that strengthens the nation’s social fabric.”

Looking ahead, Hon. Adegbayo expressed confidence that the spirit of service and unity demonstrated by Christians would continue to guide the nation. He said this same spirit would “continue to light Nigeria’s path as the country prepares for the milestones of 2026 and the elections of 2027.”
