In a move to strengthen youth diplomacy and cooperation, Nigeria and Bangladesh are set to co-host a groundbreaking Youth Booth Camp aimed at promoting youth engagement, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange.

The initiative follows a strategic meeting convened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Nigeria, alongside the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and the Nigerian Bangladesh Business and Technology Forum (NBBTF), at the Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The session was hosted by His Excellency, Miah Md. Mainul Kabir, Bangladesh High Commissioner-designate, with Nigeria’s delegation led by Ambassador Bolaji Akinremi, Director of Reform and Foreign Service Innovation, MFA.

The Booth Camp will serve as a platform for young leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from both nations to collaborate on initiatives that foster sustainable development. With a strong focus on ICT, frontier technologies in shipbuilding and shipbreaking, agritech, fintech, SMEs, and creative industries, the program is designed to build capacity, facilitate skill exchanges, and strengthen economic relations between the two countries.

According to the organizers, the Bangladesh edition of the Booth Camp is particularly significant as it coincides with the celebration of the Bangladesh Youth Year, while also advancing Nigeria’s emerging youth diplomacy strategy. “This program demonstrates the potential of youth as a driving force in shaping bilateral relations and South-South partnerships,” the communique noted.

The advanced preparation team, comprising officials from NBBTF and the Ministry, is scheduled to be in Bangladesh from October 20 to 25, 2025. The main delegation of ministerial representatives and selected youth executives will then participate in the Booth Camp from October 26 to 30, 2025.

The program is self-sponsored with discounts made available to youth participants. Organizers further disclosed that executives, legislators, and institutions are encouraged to sponsor young people and policymakers to ensure broader participation.
