In a statement issued by its Convener, Mallam Bello Muhammed, the group celebrated Dr. Omede for his remarkable contributions to medicine, governance, and national unity.
“With deepest honor and recognition, we celebrate His Excellency Dr. Idris Omede on the occasion of his birthday,” the statement read. “Today as you mark your remarkable years on Earth, we wish you continuous success in all your life endeavors in the coming years. Indeed, you are a leader with exceptional attributes and unmatched reputation.”
Team MBM praised Dr. Omede’s ability to rise above political lines, stressing that his service has always been for the good of all. “Your relentless effort and commitment to the progress of all regardless of individual identity and party affiliation is well documented and shall continue to be an indelible legacy in generations to come,” the movement added.
The group also offered prayers for his continued strength. “You shall remain mentally and physically sound for the Nigerian people who always rush to tap from your wealth of experience and mentorship,” the statement emphasized.
Born in Odu, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Dr. Omede is the Chief Executive Officer of Adamawa Hospital Limited in Yola. He has served as National President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and, in 2016, was elected the 15th President of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN). He also served as Commissioner for Health in Kogi State under the administration of Governor Idris Ichala Wada.
In 2023, Dr. Omede was unveiled as the deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the November 11 off-cycle election in Kogi State, where he ran alongside Hon. Elder Leke Abejide.
Beyond politics, Team MBM underscored his broader national vision. “Dr. Omede has been an advocate for national unity and development; he sees Nigeria’s diversity as strength to leverage on,” the group said.
The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of admiration for his life of service: “Indeed, Dr. Omede is a leader whose legacy will continue to inspire generations yet unborn.”
