ALGON Applauds Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s Mid-Term Achievements Across Plateau State

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Plateau State Chapter, has commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang for what it described as “remarkable achievements” across Plateau’s 17 local government areas, especially in the face of persistent security challenges.

The commendation came in a press statement signed by Hon. Anani Hamisu Mohammed, Chairman of ALGON Plateau State Chapter and ALGON National Publicity Secretary, following the celebration of the 2025 Democracy Day on June 12.

“Despite security challenges, your leadership has elevated Plateau State to new heights,” the statement said, praising the governor’s administration for delivering tangible development outcomes across multiple sectors.

ALGON highlighted key sectors where the Mutfwang-led government has recorded notable progress:

Education: Improved infrastructure and broader access to quality learning opportunities.

Infrastructure: Expansion and rehabilitation of road networks and public facilities.

Healthcare: Upgraded health services and improved medical facilities.

Economy: Effective job creation policies, initiatives for ease of doing business, and a push for industrialization to boost GDP.

Agriculture: Initiatives aimed at boosting food production, ensuring food security, and supporting farmers across the state.

Security: Strengthened peace-building efforts and enhanced protection of lives and property.

Employment: Youth empowerment through job creation, vocational training, and entrepreneurship programs.

Hon. Mohammed particularly applauded Governor Mutfwang’s “local government-friendly” governance style, describing it as one that fosters synergy and participatory decision-making. “Your inclusive decision-making process has built trust between government and citizens,” he stated.

ALGON also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the federal government’s ongoing support to local governments under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We commend your commitment to addressing security challenges and promoting grassroots development. These efforts are yielding real results, making Plateau State a safer and more prosperous place for all,” the statement concluded.
