Nasarawa State Commissioner, Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata, Calls for Spiritual Renewal and Unity During Ramadan

As Ramadan commences, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, Commissioner for Local Governments and Rural Development in Nasarawa State, has issued a heartfelt message urging Muslims to embark on a profound journey of self-discovery, spiritual renewal, and divine connection. His message, released this afternoon from his Lafia media office, emphasizes the importance of sincere fasting, prayer, and charity, urging Muslims to let these responsibilities connect with their souls.
In his address, the Hon. Commissioner stated, “This sacred period presents an opportunity for Muslims to transcend physical fasting and undertake a holistic fast that encompasses the heart, mind, and soul. The true essence of fasting lies in the pursuit of spiritual growth and self-purification.”
Maifata highlighted the significant role that Ramadan plays in fostering unity and compassion among the people of Nasarawa State. He called upon both Muslims and Christians to come together, recognizing their shared humanity and collective quest for spiritual growth. “As the Honourable Commissioner in charge of local government, where the majority of rural Muslims live alongside Christians, let this message serve as a powerful and timely reminder of the importance of unity, love, and compassion, especially during this period,” he said.
The Hon. Commissioner also praised the efforts of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule in promoting peace and harmony within the state. “The governor’s leadership has been instrumental in fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among the people of Nasarawa State,” Maifata said. “We are grateful for his commitment to the well-being of our citizens.”
He further emphasized the transformative journey that Nasarawa State has undertaken under Governor Sule’s leadership, pointing out that it has been a huge harvest of progress and development. “As Nasarawa State has continued to make progress under His Excellency Governor A.A. Sule, it has been a huge harvest of transformative journey that we must all support,” Maifata added. “The vision of His Excellency is one of a harmonious and prosperous Nasarawa society, where Muslims and Christians work together to build a brighter future for all.”
Maifata concluded his message by calling on the citizens of Nasarawa State to embrace the spirit of Ramadan and work towards a more united and compassionate community. “Let us use this sacred period to reflect on our values, strengthen our bonds, and work together towards the common goal of a peaceful and prosperous Nasarawa State,” he urged.
