The National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal, has been honoured with an Award for Excellence for his outstanding services in Kaita Local Government Area.

This prestigious award was presented to him in his local government, Kaita, during a visiting tour by ALGON NEC on the sidelines of the National Executive Council Meeting held in Katsina State.

The event, which took place in Kaita, was attended by a massive crowd of well-wishers from Kaita LGA, as well as the full complement of the 774 Local Governments and Area Councils in Nigeria.

The ceremony was a testament to Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal’s dedication to serving the people of Kaita Local Government Area and his commitment to promoting the development of local governments across Nigeria.

Prominent dignitaries in attendance included two past National Presidents, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and Hon. Ibrahim Jalo, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Hon Odunayo Ategbero.

The Deputy National President, Hon Moses Nomeh, and the Chairman of the 36 states of Nigeria, representing all states from Abia to Zamfara, also delivered goodwill messages.

Other notable attendees included the District Head of Kaita, Sarkin Sallubawan Katsina Hakim Kaita Alhaji Abdulkadrim Kabir Usman, and the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, who was represented by the Head of Service, Alhaji Falalu Bawale.

Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal’s leadership has been instrumental in promoting the development of local governments in Nigeria.

Recently, he led a high-level delegation to meet with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Nigeria Mission Director, where they discussed collaboration on local government service delivery.

His commitment to strengthening local governments has earned him recognition and respect from his peers and stakeholders.
