The South East Revival Group (SERG) has extended its warmest congratulations to Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu on her recent appointment and swearing-in as a minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Hon. Agu Chineme, Publicity Secretary of SERG, this appointment is a testament to her exceptional diplomatic skills and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s development.

The group said Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a seasoned diplomat and respected daughter of the South East, has distinguished herself through various past appointments, including her roles as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and Spain. Her track record of service and wealth of experience will undoubtedly be invaluable in her new role, especially at a time when Nigeria needs a better image abroad.

SERG appreciates President Tinubu for recognizing Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s capabilities and appointing her as a minister in his cabinet. However, the group also expressed concern that the South East of Nigeria has remained marginalized by the current administration, just like the previous government.

“It is imperative that the government takes concrete steps to end the marginalization of the South Eastern Nigeria to ensure even development across the country,” emphasized Hon. Agu Chineme. While Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s appointment is a step in the right direction, more needs to be done to address the longstanding issues of neglect and underdevelopment in the South East.

SERG calls on the government to prioritize the region’s development and ensure its people are given equal opportunities to contribute to the nation’s growth. The group is confident that Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s dedication, experience, and vision will bring positive changes to Nigeria’s foreign relations and enhance the country’s image on the global stage.
