Bandits Attacks: 23 Villagers Killed In Kaduna, Abduct others, Kill Student And 2 Others In Plateau

Suspected bandits have attacked Anguwar Danko village under the Kakangi constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna and killed 23 persons, just as gunmen on Thursday night, reportedly killed three persons, including a Bokkos University student, in a fresh attack on Butura community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The bandits invaded the Kaduna community of Anguwar Danko village on Wednesday night, firing gunshots sporadically, and abducted dozens of residents. 

Residents of the Kaduna community said the bandits operated freely in the community, located about 10 kilometres from Dogon Dawa village in the same LGA. 

According to reports, a representative for Kakangi Ward in the State House of Assembly, Hon Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, confirmed the attack, stating that 23 residents were killed, with five others injured.

Student, 2 Others Killed In Fresh Plateau Attack

Meanwhile, gunmen on Thursday night, reportedly killed three persons, including a Bokkos University student, in a fresh attack on Butura community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

A Student at the institution, who gave his name as George Lazarus, told our correspondent that a 200-level student of Computer Science development, was among those killed.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen stormed the community at about 9pm and started shooting continuously.
Sources from the community also told our correspondent that the killing of the student prompted a protest by students but were dispersed by personnel of Operation Safe maintaining peace in the area.

Contacted the Spokesperson of Operation Safe Haven, Major Samson Zhakom, told Daily Trust that he was not aware of the attack but would confirm from the area and get back to our correspondent. As at the time of filing this report, he had not called back.

Recall that on last Sunday, a similar attack was launched on two communities in Mangu and Bokkos LGAs where three people were killed.
