Eid-el-Kabir: ALGON National President Hon Kolade David Alabi Salutes Muslims, Urges Faithfuls To Pray For Country’s Growth, Development

On behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC), and the Board of Trustees (BOT), the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon Kolade David Alabi, has heartily congratulated all Muslim Ummar on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

In a statement personally signed by him on Wednesday, the ALGON National President also extended the greetings of the Association, specially to Muslims residing in various communities in the country who have continued to keep hope alive despite all the economic difficulties.

“It is instructive to note that this year’s Eid-ei-Kabir presents a unique opportunity for renewed prayers for leaders in intensifying and fulfilling those expectations before the people through meaningful policies, programmes, and incentivised delivery of services that will ramp up good governance and help in strengthening the highly- long-neglected rural system of government in the (LGA’s/Councils).

“As we reflect on the above using this deep solemn moment in history, it is important to understand that such will bring about an unhindered fulfilment in services delivery to the populace; believing in the power of prayers and good works”

“I am equally optimistic that this celebration will evoke the desired sobriety to truly reflect on the gains of synergy and collaboration of both leaders and the led in all the Tiers of government especially the LGA and Area Councils to achieve more meaningful development aimed at reinvigorating domestic peace, push back insecurity, ensuring profound unity and igniting inclusive progress across the country”.

He noted that the above expectations are no doubt in line “with the five pillars of Islam as enunciated in the teachings of Prophet Muhammed, I, therefore salute again all Muslims and pray that lessons learnt in both our local prayer outlets, the pilgrimage, sacrifices and other teachings will hugely impact positively in our lives and the nation at large.”
