In September 2010, during his undergraduate days, the National Association of Idoma Students, FUT Minna Chapter, then led by Comrade Omaga E. Daniel, conferred on Osisiogu Osikenyi E. the title “Okp’Idoma” — literally “The People’s Leader / Defender of the Idoma”.

Today, he is still that defender, not just for Idoma people, but for every family in Karu, Keffi, and Kokona who wants honest representation. His closest allies such as his Chief of Staff Ochekwu Ocheche Morgan is Idoma from Otukpo; His Principal Private Secretary – Dr. Abel Okewu is Idoma from Ogbadigbo; his Pastor – Pastor Immanuel Adah is Idoma from Okpokwu, even his lawyer from Edumoga and many others. That’s not politics. That’s family.”

Karu/Keffi/Kokona is a melting pot — Gbagyi, Eggon, Mada, Gwanda, Nyankpa, Hausa, Idoma, Tiv, Bura, Koro, Igala, Igbo, Yoruba, Urhobo, Ebira, Ijaw, Edo and others. The Okp’Idoma and many other titles positions him as a bridge-builder. He could speak to Idoma’s identity while also appealing to other groups as a unifying leader.

The Okp’Idoma title is more than an honor. It’s living proof that his relationship with the Idoma people isn’t transactional — it’s been built over 20 years.
