I was unequivocal when I noted in the New Year Day brief of this series that the year 2026 will be a year of long knives, of betrayal, of subterfuge and of perfidy. If I were one of the Merchants of Faith my followers would have gone to town screaming that my prophecies and proselytizing have come through and true so quickly… But not so, because the truth is before us, and the APC is incapable of pulling out pleasant surprises.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who left the Country before the New Year to Europe (where exactly in Europe, we were not told) only arrived in Dubai in the U.A.E yesterday for the event that we were told was the chief reason for his travel, so where and what has our President been up to since he left the Country 14 or more days ago? Indeed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the minders of his Presidency have turned Nigeria into a huge Circus where shameless shenanigans and wanton descent to odium define State Craft.

We are not sure when our President will return home, we do not know whether he will return to Europe from the United Arab Emirates, and we are aware that to the ‘…on your mandate we stand’ crooners it does not matter, we are conscious of the fact that to them Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best thing that has happened to Nigeria, and we know that they have sold their souls to mammon. We are therefore not surprised, what bothers the carapace of my mind however is the fact that hunger, disease, decay, despondency and wanton insecurity has remained rife, so I wonder what informs their optimism, can crumbs from the master’s table so cripple the limbs of the soul and the human conscience? What really do I know.

Did you read the admission, the rebuttals and the re-admission of the forging of the new Tax Law? Did you see the descent to shamelessness in the damage control, and the subsequent gazetting of the Original Copy from the National Assembly? Have you observed that the Presidency and the National Assembly are unwilling to investigate and unearth the details of the FORGERY AND FAKERY? And are you yet wondering why? Worry not, the witch cried last night, and the child died this morning they say, the conjectures are not cumbersome, those who FORGED the Law are the same people working to gaslight all of us, BUT for how long?

In the emergent ONE-PARTY State that Nigeria is increasingly becoming no thanks to the abrasive and uncouth politics of the APC are the seeds and the fire of its own destruction, don’t call me a clairvoyant, just wait and see! As they celebrate the strangulation of opposition parties and the thinning down of divergent thoughts, they are by Jove fanning the embers of internal protests and implosion, and the fangs are lucid. The APC has lost two of its founding Chairmen former Governors Odigie Oyegun and Abdullahi Adamu to the opposition; the APC is fighting itself in some States, in Rivers State the APC with several factions is working to impeach an APC Governor at the behest of a non-APC serving Minister, or has Wike finally joined the APC; and on account of the dictatorial and despotic tendencies of the present administration the APC is unarguably the greatest individual threat to the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria. Argue this fact if you wish, but the TRUTH shall vindicate the Just sooner rather than later.

Now that the new Tax Law is alive and in operation may those who support and defend it remember that no nation has defeated poverty and infrastructural decay by taxing its citizens. May those who see politics in every critical thought remember that whatever expands the frontiers of poverty and hunger expands the width of crime, banditry and insurgency. And may all those who excuse the inexcusable and defend the indefensible remember that if Nigeria works it works for all, and if Nigeria fails we all fail.

I shall return with more if the universe permits, but be sure that the days ahead are deep and that nothing in God’s planet can stop the raging redemption, kid with it at your own peril. Nigeria will surely and certainly come through this ominous bend better and stronger.
