The Progressive Next Generation Initiative (PNGI) has dissolved its interim executive committee led by Hon. Faisal Lawal, marking a significant organisational shift barely three months after the team was inaugurated.

In a statement issued by the group on Saturday, the Convener of the group, Hon. Jeffery Omoh Ozemegwa, said the dissolution followed ongoing structural reviews aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and repositioning the organisation for data-driven political engagement and grassroots mobilisation, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory.

Ozemegwa commended Lawal and members of the interim leadership for what he described as their “notable contributions, sacrifices and stabilising support” during PNGI’s formative phase. He noted that the interim executive committee played an essential role in consolidating outreach structures and deepening internal processes within the organisation.

Following the dissolution, Ozemegwa announced that he will now assume direct supervision of PNGI’s activities pending the unveiling of a substantive executive committee after consultations are concluded. He emphasised that PNGI’s greatest strength lies in its collective identity, stressing that every member is an equal stakeholder expected to contribute to the organisation’s growth, policy engagements and strategic political analysis.

Reiterating PNGI’s commitment to inclusion and innovative civic-driven participation, Ozemegwa said the group will continue to expand its grassroots footprint while refining its frameworks for political communication, electoral education and community engagement.

He further disclosed that PNGI is preparing to host the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on December 2, 2025, in an engagement expected to deepen collaboration with key stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory’s governance ecosystem.
