Zeru Gebrelibanos, Other Africans Bag Honourary Doctorate Degrees At 2nd AASU/Weldios University Symposium In Abuja

The CEO of Zeru Business Group, Ethiopia, Dr. Zeru Gebrelibanos has bagged PhD Honoraris Causa in Philanthropy & Human Investments in recognition of his investment innovations in business and humanitarianism.
The Management of Weldios University of Management and Technology, Benin Republic, has honoured him and other notable African leaders in humanitarian, business, and public service.
His conglomerate, the Zeru Business Group, Ethiopia, engage in exporting of coffee, cereals, oil seeds, pulses, paper, spices, maize and other agricultural products to different parts of the world and also involved in the importation and trading of construction materials, steel, rebar, etc, from Turkey and Ukraine.
He is also importing household fixtures and fittings from China and fruits from Sudan and Egypt into Ethiopia.
The conferment ceremony took place at the second edition of the All-Africa Students Union (AASU) and Weldios University Symposium held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
The Doctorate Award was receded by the keynote lectures at the event.
The first was by Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun, the Chairperson of the United Africa Group and founder of the Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun Foundation, Republic of Namibia, titled “Empowering the African Girl Child; to be a Key Architect of the Society”.
The second keynote lecture was by Rt. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, the Speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly of South Sudan and founder of the Jemma Nunu Kumba Foundation for Women and Youth Empowerment, Republic of South Sudan, which was titled “Legislation for the Enhancement of Access to Education for the African Child”.
In his welcome speech, the Honorary Chief Host of the event, Dr. Daysman Oyakhilome commended the university for its due diligence in the selection of the awardees and for finding the awardees worthy of the recognitions.
On his part, the Registrar of Weldios University, Dr. Magnus U. Kel, urged Nigerians and, indeed, Africans to take advantage of the university’s unique academic environment and join the institution.
African leaders conferred the Honorary Doctorate Degrees included Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun, the Chairperson of the United Africa Group, who bagged PhD Honoraris Causa in Humanitarian Works; Rt. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, the Speaker of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly of South Sudan, who received PhD Honoraris Causa in Public Service and Charitable Works; Dr. Walton E. Gilpin, the Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank, Sierra Leone, who was conferred PhD Honoraris Causa in Finance Innovations & Human Capital Building; and Amb. Victor Ita Okon, the Chairman/CEO, Wrightlink Group, who bagged PhD Honoraris Causa in Business Administration & Human Investment.
Others include Mr. Samnuel Anisulowo, Founder of the Sam Anisulowo Foundation, Nigeria, who received the award of PhD Honoraris Causa in Philanthropy & Charitable Works; and Amb. Fazazee Nasiru Adeshina, Group CEO, Naskaxe Conglomerate Nigeria, who bagged PhD Honoraris Causa in Built Environment.
Other recipients were Amb. Uebert Angel, the
Founder, Sprit Embassy Worldwide, who bagged PhD Honoraris Causa in International Diplomacy & Human Development; Hon. Philip Agbese, the Deputy Spokesperson and Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ado/Okpokwu/ogbadibo Federal Constituency), who received PhD Honoraris Causa in Political Leadership; and Mr. Henry Ajikere, the CEO, Kinix Student Aid Educational Centre, Nigeria, who received PhD Honoraris Causa in Basic Education Support.
Also, Weldios University conferred on Evang. Kathy Woghiren, the The Director of the Loveworld Music, Film4 and Arts Ministry (PhD Honoraris Causa in Music, Film & Art); Dr. Nicolas Felix,
General Overseer, Miracle Center International Inc. Worldwide, (PhD Honoraris Causa) in Youth Development & Leadership; Chief Maxwell Stephen Nwaeze, Chairman/CEO, Seman Global Projects Limited, Nigeria (PhD Honoraris Causa) in Leadership & Youth Advocacy; and Hon. Anthony Manyara, President, East Africa Students’ Union (EASU), Kenya, (PhD Honoraris Causa) in Leadership & Youth Advocacy.
The event was Coordinated by the President of the All-Africa Students Union (AASU), Osisiogu Osikenyi E. while Event Compere was Dr. Munirat Antoinette Lecky, an educator, entertainer, entrepreneur and member of the Weldios University Board.
