Reports say that no fewer than two persons have been arrested in an estate in Abuja after terror alerts were raised by both the United Kingdom and the United States embassies in Nigeria.
According to a report by 247ureports.com, unconfirmed sources indicated that agents of Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS), swooped on suspected terrorists in the early hours of Thursday and arrested two individuals the Trademore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja.
The online news portal reports that the arrest was believed to be connected to the recent security alert by the United States of America (USA) concerning an impending terror attacks being planned by terrorist group to be unleashed in Abuja and environs.
The identities of the suspects are unknown at press time.
According to the 247ureports.com, efforts to reach the spokesman of the DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya for confirmation of the development proved abortive as he did not respond.
