The Nasarawa State capital witnessed a rare and heartwarming celebration over the weekend, as Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, the Commissioner for Local Governments, Community Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs, hosted a historic double wedding for his two daughters on the same day.

The joyous occasion, which spanned from Friday, July 18 to Saturday, July 20, brought together tens of thousands of guests at the Emir’s Palace in Lafia, where the traditional Islamic Fatiha rites were performed for the brides — Adama Aminu Mu’azu and her sister, Fatima Ilu Musa.

The simultaneous weddings of the sisters not only reflected the deep familial bond they share but also symbolized unity and harmony within the Maifata family. The atmosphere was filled with love, celebration, and cultural pride, as friends, relatives, and dignitaries gathered to witness the significant milestone.

The grand event drew a distinguished array of attendees, including members of the Emirate Council, traditional rulers, state Executive Council members, officials from the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), and representatives from all 13 local government areas in Nasarawa State.

In a moving address, Hon. Maifata expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for the blessing of witnessing the marriages of his daughters on the same day. He offered heartfelt prayers for their marital success and encouraged them to uphold the values of virtue, love, and loyalty as they embark on their new journeys as wives.

“This is a moment of immense joy for our family,” Hon. Maifata said. “I thank Allah for this blessing and pray that their homes will be filled with peace, love, and mutual respect. I urge them to always remain committed, morally upright, and supportive in their marriages.”
