Plateau State Governor Visits Defence Minister Badaru Abubakar, Commends President Tinubu on Improved Security

In a significant development, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb M. Mutfwang, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for significantly improving security in the state and Nigeria. The Governor’s praise came during a courtesy visit from the Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.

The Minister’s visit was aimed at discussing ways to improve the security situation in Plateau State, which has faced challenges in recent times. Abubakar was received by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Josephine Ngo Piyo, who represented Governor Mutfwang.

“We will support the Federal Government’s plans, including interactive engagement with affected Local Government Areas, the traditional rulers, and other critical stakeholders to finding solutions to lasting peace in the State,” Piyo said. “Thank you for the efforts to restore peace.”

The Deputy Governor’s remarks underscored the state government’s commitment to collaborating with federal authorities to address security concerns.

Earlier, Minister Abubakar emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in improving security. “The operational visit to Jos will afford me the opportunity to discuss how best the security situation can be improved,” he said.

Abubakar outlined his plan to engage with various stakeholders, including officers and men of the Armed Forces, traditional rulers, and local government areas affected by attacks. “We will work together to find lasting solutions to security challenges,” he assured.

As part of his visit, the Minister also paid a courtesy call on the Gbong Gwom Jos, a prominent traditional ruler in the state. The Royal father, who spoke through the Emir of Wase, Alhaji Dr. Sambo Haruna, praised the military personnel’s efforts in restoring peace.

“We have collaborated with all Security Agencies in achieving relative peace,” the Emir said.
