A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, Chief Diekivie Ikiogha has congratulated the state Governor and Governor-elect, Senator Douye Diri and the Deputy Governor-elect, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on their “well deserved victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state.”
Chief Ikiogha, who is also the founder of Chief Ikiogha Support Base for Diri/Law in a statement signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the group, Azazi Deboh, described Governor Diri’s victory as “a testament of a renewed hope for a better Bayelsa.”
According to the PDP bigwig, the people of the state hold the Governor in high esteem and have remained “confident that he will take the Ijaw Nation to greater heights.”
Chief Ikiogha further described Governor Diri as “a true pro-democractic activist who was destined for leadership.”
He noted that “Bayelsans have closely followed the Governor-elect’s trajectory movement as a leader of the people, member of House of Representatives, Senator and Governor under the auspices of the PDP.”
Chief Ikiogha therefore assured the Governor-elect of his readiness to work with him to maintain and consolidate on the overall development of Bayelsa State and the country at large.
While also congratulating the Party leadership, especially, Senior Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Collins Cocodia, the PDP Chairman in the State, Mr Solomon Agwanana, and the member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma/ Opokuma Federal Constituency, Mr Orfoji Oboku, for their tenacity and commitment towards the growth of the party, Chief Ikiogha thanked them for giving Bayelsa youths a new mindset and a reason to remain hopeful.
