Kogi Opposition Group, Team MBM Spotted At APC Governorship Campaign Flags-Off for Ododo

A formidable grassroots political group in Kogi State, Team MBM Political Movement, has shown strong presence at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign held at the Muhammadu Buhari Square Lokoja, the state capital.

The group, led by Mallam Bello Muhammed, popularly known as MBM in the state’s political circles, stormed the venue of the flag-off in a carnival-like manner ahead of planned decamping rally of the Adavi-born politician. Team MBM Political Movement

According to the Mallam Bello, the Convener of the political group, which is populated by members of the opposition political parties and aggrieved APC members who had pinched tents with different opposition parties in the state, their presence was merely to make appearance ahead of his formal cross-carpeting rally to hold on a date to be announced later.

The delegates to the rally, which were drawn from the three Senatorial Districts of the state and from the opposition political parties in the state, including the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and some aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) members who had pinched tents with opposition parties, particularly the SDP ahead of the November 11 governorship election in the state.

After series of its consultations in the last three months with members of the opposition parties and key government functionaries, especially the Director General of the Kogi State Government House Administration, Dr Umar Shuaibu Oricha, the group opted to give full support to the Governorship candidate of the APC, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo.
