Amid the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic in many parts of the globe, the Katsina State Government said it has mobilsed enormous resources in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state Deputy Governor Mannir yakubu who is also the chairman emergency response committee on COVID-19 Katsina State said this at a retreat to review the katsina State COVID-19 response and incident action plan on the second wave organised by the ministry of health katsina State
Mannir yakubu further explain that the resources were utilised to establish a 160 bed isolation centers in each of the IDP and NYSC camp, 2 ward in General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital GARSH with 30 bed capacity.
Yakubu said another isolation center in General Hospital Daura with 18 -bed capacity.
He said Drug were also procured for managing COVID-19 cases.
Mannir yakubu explained that various sensitization campaign was conducted to ensure that all the people of the state were fully informed on the dangers of the disease and compliance to non pharmaceutical ways of preventing the spread of the virus.
He noted that health care workers were trained in case management, surveillance and infection presentation control of the disease
Mannir yakubu said with the obvious second wave of covid 19 being witnessed across the globe, the review of the IAP and response activities will greatly assist in identifying the success recorded so far, the challenges being faced and the way forward towards mitigating the effect of the pendamic
