The Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs to Governor Hope Uzodinma Uzodinma of Imo State, Hon Cllr Celia Osakwe-Hibbert has received Nigeria’s first and only Olympic Gold Medalist, Chioma Ajunwa-Opara in her office in Owerri, the state capital.
Abuja Business Reports gathered that the visit was in line with the Diaspora office’s consultations towards a brand new initiative kick started by Hon. Osakwe-Hibbert.
The new initiative, known as Imo Diaspora Athletes Engagement, already has a buy-in of many top Imo Diaspora Athletes within a short period of time of its launch.
The most recent big name to embrace the project is the star athlete, Chioma Ajunwa-Opara.
A statement signed by Barr. Ekeh Uzoma of the media unit, Office of the Governor on Diaspora, noted that Governor Uzodimma administration has remained committed to its agenda anchored on rehabilitation and recovery of talents in the state.
