Imo SA Diaspora Hon. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert Bags 1st Award 6 Months Into Service

Barely six months into service, the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert bagged her first award.

One of such appoints was on Friday 2nd of October rewarded by the Federation of Mbaise Students. The association presented a rare Award to Hon. Osakwe-Hibbert.

While presenting the award, the students explained that the decision honour the Special Adviser was a result of the recipient’s demonstration of full commitment, passion and devotion to Youth Engagement.

The association noted that she has used her office to draw attention of Imolites in Diaspora to meet some young people’s needs in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, who received the award in person at Mbaise area of Imo State with utmost pride, stated that  “as a black woman in the UK I had to become active politically, to galvanize young people who can drive change and create a world where there is equal opportunities for all.

Mbaise is the village of the immediate past Governor of Imo State.

Abuja Business Reports recalls that in Nigeria it is rare to find young persons in positions of authority and even rarer to find a woman in such a position, justifying the believe that Imo State under Governor Uzodinma is trendsetting in the political arena in the country.
