
The pioneer provost of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna, Nigeria, Professor Emmanuel Ezugwu is dead.
Family sources said he died in his sleep in the early hours of Thursday in his Abuja residence.
He was said to be a high blood pressure and diabetic patient while the professor was alive.

His body has been deposited in the Airforce Hospital at Airforce base, Abuja.
Family members have ordered an autopsy to ascertain the actual cause of his death.
He was provost of the Air Force Institute of Technology from April 2009 to October 2019.
He was a Professor of Engineering Systems, and his achievements include the development of self-propelled rotary cutter.
He was a top contestant for the position of the Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He felt cheated in the selection process and instituted a suit in court challenging the process.
Prof. Emmanuel Ezugwu was born on November 11, 1959 and hailed from Enugu State of Nigeria.
I am short of words. Yet to come to terms of prof’s sudden exit. What a calamity! Never in my dreams could l imagine l will see him again. I am in grief.
