With increasing diaspora remittances, the engagement nigerians living abroad has increased both at national and at State level, with some states doing better than the others. Whilst we have the national activities anchored by ‘Mama Diaspora’ Rt. Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, we are also starting to see heightened Diaspora engagements on State levels!
One of such states with improved diaspora engagements is Imo State, which has maintain unrelenting momentum since the assumption of office by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
A few days ago, yet another organisation named Orlu National Assembly USA (ORAUSA) conducted a medical mission to IMSUTH (Imo State Teaching Hospital), donating several medical materials free of charge.
Past executives of the Association were on ground to see to the smooth running of this Medical mission. The current President general of ORAUSA in the person of Chief Tony Okpara was ably represented on the day by ‘two-time President’ of ORAUSA (Chief Gibson Chigbu).
Also representing the State, Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert, Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, whilst standing in for the LGA, is the Chairperson herself, Mrs. Ifeoma Ndupu, who’s also the SSA Local Government Affairs.
