The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has met with the deposed emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, in we, Nasarawa State.
Mr El-Rufai arrived Sanusi II’s residence at about 12:46 p.m. in a convoy of about six security and official vehicles and went straight into the house to have a meeting with the deposed emir.
Abuja Business Reports reports that there was a security barricade around the house preventing observers and journalists from going to meet the former emir.
The meeting is the first public visit to the former emir since Monday when he was sacked by the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje led Kano State Government.
He was banished to Nasarawa State and had his freedom restricted by security officials.
After Sanusi II’s sack as emir, Mr El-Rufai appointed him into two offices, as a Board member and as the Chancellor of the Kaduna State university.
However, on Friday, a federal court sitting in Abuja ordered the Police and the State Security Service to release the embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
