In a precautionary move to mitigate the spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease otherwise known as COVID-19 after he returned from China, Nigeria’s Director General of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, has been quarantined.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire,disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at senate briefing.
According to the Minister of Health, the head of the agency has restricted himself to his residence since he returned from China as a delegate of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Wuhan, China to understudy the disease.
Dr. Ihekweazu is expected to remain in self -isolation for 14-days.
