Amid knocks from many stakeholders within and outside the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), a group of protesters has stormed APC National Secretariat in Abuja demanding the immediate removal of the national chairman Adams Oshiomhole.
The protesters under the aegis of Concerned APC Youths are demanding that Oshimhole should be sacked from office of the national chairman, citing the dwindling fortunes of the party under his leadership.
According to them, the party has lost more states under Oshiomhole, the most recent being Bayelsa State.
The protesters carried various placards with inscriptions calling for Oshiomhole’s sack.
One of the leaders of the protesters, Agricola Ejembi told reporters that the group is appealing to President Muhuammadu Buhari to intervene in the affairs of the party in order to arrest what they claim to be the dwindling fortunes of the party under Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the party.
This was coming a day after the umbrella body of all registered political parties and political associations in country, the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) warned the the unguarded utterances of the APC national chairman was capable of destroying Nigeria’s democracy and the party.
